Matthew 25: Salthawks
In 2015, we formed “Matthew 25: Salthawks”, a mission focus to help meet the basic needs of Hutchinson High School students for food, clothing, and personal care items as well as tutoring and mentoring.
Last November, Hutch High Principal Ron Roehm came to Trinity and expressed his thanks for our participation in this important effort. Watch the video of Principal Roehm’s presentation.
Looking for a way YOU can make a difference? Check out the display on the main floor bulletin board! Along with general information about the “Matthew 25: Salthawks” initiative will be specific needs for these students. Buy a package of new socks or underwear (all sizes) to donate – – – purchase an extra toothbrush, bottle of shampoo, body wash or soap – – – do something to meet the need!
If you are not able to offer your time as a mentor or tutor, please consider making a cash donation. Direct your check to Trinity UMC and note “Matthew 25: Salthawks” in the memo. These funds will be used to put money onto breakfast and lunch accounts for the students so these young people can have at least one good meal each day. It’s hard to study when your stomach is empty . . .
“Matthew 25: Salthawks” is one of our ongoing ministries, so be watching for updated opportunities to make a real difference in the lives of these students!
