wordie

[wur-dee] noun

a lover of words

I love words! I love reading, writing (using a fun font), talking (of course), and according to my family, I’ve never met a sign or a t-shirt with a meaningful saying on it that I didn’t like. You’ll also notice I like to use parentheses (a lot!). Things I love even more than words (and parentheses):  Jeff, my husband of over a quarter of a century, and my children—Katie, her husband, Kobe, Lauren, and Brady.

Jeff is the President at Underground Vaults and Storage. Katie and Kobe live here in Hutchinson, Lauren works in marketing in Kansas City, and Brady attends Kansas State University.  My newest love…my 1st grandchild, Sutton, who brings me so much JOY!

Some other things I think are cool: eating at fun restaurants or enjoying food my husband makes, watching a good Netflix series, planning a fun

event, the beach, traveling, and taking W-A-L-K-S with our dogs, Kona and Kali (shhhh… we don’t want them to hear the w-word and get too excited).

I received my Bachelor of Arts from Bethany College in 1994 and taught Middle and High School Special Education for 6 years. Jeff and I joined Trinity in 1995 and volunteered in the youth ministry program for 6 years. In 2003, I came on staff and have worked for over 20 years in youth ministry, adding on children’s ministry in 2016.

Currently, I serve as Trinity’s Director of Family Ministries, managing the church's children, college and young adult programs. I feel God has given me the mission to help children develop healthy relationships with Jesus, caring adults, and each other. I also want them to know that church is an awesome place to be where a lot of imperfect people love them exactly as they are. In turn, I hope they will develop a heart for loving and serving God and others.

Our Trinity family is so important to my own family, and I am forever grateful for the faithful generations of Trinity people who have gone before us. I would love to help you find a place in our Trinity family as well!
