TRINITY

UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Welcome to Trinity! My name is Kim Biery, and I have been in ministry in the Hutchinson community since 1990, serving at First Christian Church, Trinity United Methodist Church, and Park Place Christian Church. I have also been a volunteer hospital chaplain for over 30 years.
I grew up in the Haven area and then managed the Hutchinson Long John Silver’s restaurant when I met my future husband, Bud Biery. We married and had two sons, Kenny and Michael. Bud and I have been married for over 42 years, and we love traveling, especially to San Francisco where Bud was in the Navy.
We have two very spoiled Persian cats, Teddy and Dixie Jo. My favorite hobbies include hanging out at coffee shops and collecting cool bags. I have become a flower gardener and enjoy pruning my flowers to make room for new growth—both in the garden and in my soul. I prune my soul through the discipline of journaling and self-reflection.
I strive to create a meaningful life legacy through four focus points. I attempt to be a HOPE BEARER who shares God’s hope with others. A STORY CATCHER, who listens intently to others, helping them to recognize God’s movement in their lives.

I endeavor to be a PASSIONATE DISCIPLE — always growing and using my God-given gifts to make a difference in my corner of the world. I strive to be a JOY SHARER. My colorful garden is a rich display of the color of my soul. Random… Splashy… Growing ….beautiful!

My faith helps me smile from the ‘Inside out,’ and I want to share my joy with others. I am a cancer survivor and presently lead two community cancer support groups.

The “Hope” cancer support group meets at Trinity on the second Tuesday of every month and is sponsored by the Hospital, the Clinic, and the Cancer Council of Reno County. Bud and I lead “Cancer Connections”, a group of cancer survivors (men and women) and their caregivers. This group meets on the second Wednesday of the month at Trinity. I have a passion for helping people thrive through times of crisis.

My doctoral dissertation, “Enhancing Resiliency: The Ability to Recover from Life’s Setbacks," is my inspiration to help others be resilient and bounce back after life’s challenges. I love God…..to the moon and back!
