Unfortunately, Reno County is experiencing a rapid rise in the number of active Covid-19 cases – doubling in a week from 250 to over 500. The ICU at Hutchinson Medical Center is at capacity because they do not have enough staff.
Our school district, USD 308 in Hutchinson, has shifted to remote learning to keep the kids home. We are listening to the experts at the medical center and health department and school district. In addition, several people connected to our church have either been exposed or have Covid-19. This is hitting close to home with people we know and love.
We cannot ignore these trends. Our church should do everything we can to not contribute to this growing problem. In response, we have decided to suspend in-person worship for the time being, as well as all small groups meetings, like, Sunday School, committees, youth, music, Scouts, Circles of Hope, and so on.
For the last nine Sundays, we have enjoyed gathering in person for worship. What a joy and a blessing! We certainly share your disappointment in suspending many of our in-person ministries, but our primary goal is to protect the health and well-being of our church family.
We will return to recording our worship services and posting them online Sunday mornings.

We will set up Zoom meetings for Sunday School classes, committees and other small groups. We ask that everyone mail in your 2021 Estimate of Giving Cards for Commitment Sunday.
We are working closely with the Trinity Treasures staff to keep the preschool and afterschool programs open for now. We have protocols in place to keep the children and staff safe and healthy and plans for what to do if a teacher or student tests positive for the coronavirus.
We will continue to reach out to church members, especially those who are homebound or vulnerable, to check on them and to share a conversation and prayer. Let us know what your needs are and how we can serve you.
This is a challenging season – a test of endurance and a test of faith. Many of us are exhausted and stretched thin by the constant changes and relentless stress. Please know that all of you are in our prayers. We love you and miss you. We will get through this together with the loving fellowship we share. We will persevere through faith!
