New Senior Pastor!

We’re very pleased to announce the upcoming arrival of Rev. Michael Tomson-DeGreeff as our new Senior Pastor beginning July 1, 2020!  Pastor Michael and his family will be coming to Trinity after serving as Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Wamego, Kansas since 2013.

Prior to serving at Wamego, Pastor Michael served at Eudora United Methodist Church, just east of Lawrence, KS,  Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in North Topeka, KS, and Campus Ministry at the University of Kansas.  He graduated from St. Louis University High School in 1988, the University of Kansas with a Bachelors Degree in Religious Studies in 1999, and Saint Paul School of Theology with a Masters of Divinity degree in 2003.  He has been an Ordained Elder and Member of the United Methodist Church in Full Connection since 2003.

Pastor Michael is married to Steffani and together they are the parents of four boys: Zac, Nic, Ben and Xander.

A few interesting facts about Pastor Michael:
He was raised Roman Catholic in Saint Louis, MO with two older brothers and one younger sister.
Water polo was his main sport in high school and he played Junior Olympic Water Polo year-round.  He was captain of the team that won the Missouri State Championship in 1988.
He lived and worked in Boston for six years pursuing his dream of becoming a rich and famous rock drummer.
Pastor Michael earned a living for many years in restaurants as a bus boy, server, bartender and manager.
He first moved to Boston after high school to study music at Boston University, where he met Steffani.
Transferred to Berklee College of Music in Boston with a drum scholarship.
He is a cancer survivor, having been diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1989 at the age of 20.
