Many residences of Reno County and surrounding areas have experienced major damage as the result of recent flooding. Dry wall has been ruined, foundations are damaged, personal items have been lost. Necessary home appliances such as water heaters, air conditioners, washers & drier, freezers have been damaged beyond repair and need to be replaced. Many elderly, disabled, and single parents in our community have been living in unhealthy conditions for several weeks without hot water or air conditioning and are unable to help themselves.
The Reno County VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster) is working hard to help clean out flooded basements and provide necessary funding to replace vital appliances. We need skilled volunteers and money to make this happen.
Can you help? Are you able to give us a hand removing damaged items from basements? If so, please contact the VOAD Office at United Way of Reno County (620) 669-9329.
Can you write a check to help fund this important work? Direct your donations to: Reno County VOAD, 924 North Main Street, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
