Rev. Dr. Kim Biery
The Reverend Dr. Kim Biery has been in ministry in the Hutchinson community since 1990. She’s worked in ministry at First Christian Church, Trinity United Methodist Church, and Park Place Christian Church. She is now back at Trinity serving as the Associate Pastor. She has also been a volunteer hospital chaplain for over 20 years.
Kim grew up in Haven, Kansas. Before being called by God, she managed the Hutchinson Long John Silvers restaurant. She has been married to her husband, Bud, for over 32 years. They have two sons, Kenny and Michael. Her favorite hobbies include hanging out at coffee shops and collecting cool bags.
Kim is a cancer survivor and presently leads two cancer support groups in the community.
She co- leads the “Hope” cancer support group with Amy Bretz. This group is for women and meets at the hospital on the second Tuesday of every month and is sponsored by the Hospital, the Clinic, and the Cancer Council of Reno County.
She also co-leads the “Courageous” cancer support group with colon cancer survivor, Pastor Jeff Arnold. This is a faith based group for men and women, survivors and caregivers, which meets the last Sunday evening of the month at Trinity United Methodist church.
Kim’s passion is to help people make it through crisis. Her doctoral dissertation was entitled “Enhancing Resiliency: The Ability to Recover from Life’s Setbacks.” She strives to help others be resilient and bounce back after life’s challenges.
Kim reflects, “I am thrilled that God has brought me back to Trinity. I am blessed to be with this special church family and am excited about the future! God has great plans for this church body as we served God together. Will YOU join us?”
