Rev. Jeff Prothro
Psalm 78:1-8
Too often we pack the next generation's backpacks with too much "stuff" - placing on them our own burdens.  How can we lighten their - and our - loads to be more faithful and active disciples of Christ?

Rev. Pat Ault-Duell
Luke 10:3-4 and 17-18
As followers of Jesus, we are sent out into the world like lambs among wolves with no special external equipment.  But we are NOT empty-handed, for the essential things we need are within our hearts and minds:  our willingness to trust Jesus, our passion to share him with others, our faith in the power of the Holy Spirit to bring wholeness to others through our faithful efforts.  What power is unleashed when we dare go out into the community in teams for Jesus to do whatever he shows us needs to be healed!

Rev. Jeff Prothro
Philippians 2:12-18
God's grace is always working in us, shaping us and perfecting us in love.  Though the journey at times is filled with difficulties, the gift of God's grace, made known in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, invites us to respond with love.

Luke 11:1-13
There is much more to prayer than we realize and Jesus is asking us to open our hearts fully to what prayer can be.

Wrestling with Reconciliation

Rev. Jeff Prothro
Romans 5:1-11
With confidence, we proclaim through the grace of Christ our relationship with God is restored.  God's love prevails as we are called to respond by faith.  However, we recognize our own inner struggle as we know ourselves to be sinners.  Why would God want to reconcile with us, offering humanity the free gift of salvation?

Rev. Pat Ault-Duell
Galatians 2:15-16, 19-20
To receive God's gracious gift of salvation, we must open ourselves to his grace.  To move from "closed" to "open" is an act of trust, of faith.  We are saved by grace through faith.

A More Perfect Union

Rev. Pat Ault-Duell
Acts 11:1-18
The dream of a "more perfect union" based, not on ethnicity and status, but rather on universal human dignity, was introduced into human history by Christians, following their experience of Jesus' indiscriminate table manners.  When we are at our best as a nation, we strive to make the dream of human dignity and equality a reality for all in our generation.

Prepared by Grace

Rev. Jeff Prothro
Galatians 4:1-7
Sometimes we think we can do it all on our own.  Yet the mystery of God's grace defies even our own expectations and is working on us even before we know it.  In Christ, God calls us to respond to God's love toward us through faith.  The Spirit beckons us to salvation by removing the shackles of sin we have placed on ourselves.
